A Review of the New Pentax K-3 III Monochrome Camera

Black and white cameras are a bit of a rarity, but they have been steadily present for years, and many photography purists swear by them both for the experience and the quality of images they provide. And so, as both a black and white camera and a DSLR, the new Pentax K-3 Mark III is an especially interesting camera. How does it perform in practice? This great video review takes a look at everything you can expect from the camera.

Coming to you from Samuel Streetlife, this excellent video review takes a look at the new Pentax K-3 III Monochrome camera. While you might think you can just take a standard color image and desaturate it to get the same result, black and white cameras can generally produce superior results because there is no light loss at the color array, allowing them to record more luminance. Not only does this result in better tonality and smoother transitions, it also means better high-ISO performance, making such cameras excellent for low-light work as well. And beyond that, it can be a ton of fun and an excellent exercise for learning to read the light in a scene. Check out the video above for the full rundown on the new camera.
